What Makes A Good Audition? |
|
- by Alison Goodman, Casting Director-Guiding Light
Auditioning is a skill. There are plenty of incredible actors out there that are bad auditioners. Here’s a couple of tips to help you become a good one:
- Be prepared. Know the material.
- Be familiar with the show you’re auditioning for. Even if you don’t watch it you can use the internet for research.
- Dress appropriately. Always ask the casting director if there is a particular dress required.
- Make strong choices in your scene. Nobody likes a boring audition.
- Show your personality.
- Bring a picture and resume.
- Be professional to everyone; that means the security guard and the production assistant at the front desk too.
- Don’t make excuses.
- Be on time.
- Be professional. Every audition is a job interview.
